0002840: "update" command is not compatible with old version

In the old days an update "/" would update the whole directory.

update "/Books"
would work.
In git this results in 'malformed path'

The change seems to break several old clients.

I tried removing the initial '/'
but now update "" fails.

0002839: ReplayGain broken with musepack files

When playing musepack files with mpd v0.15.8, rg seems to have no effect.

Using sample file below, mpd says 'computing ReplayGain album scale with gain 122.879997, peak 0.549150'.

One thing though, if I build mpd against old libmpcdec-1.2.6, rg works as expected: 'computing ReplayGain album scale with gain 16.820000, peak 0.099765'

0002837: pause should stop streaming from internet streams

Hello,

I think it would be nice if mpd stopped streaming data when it is paused while playing an audio stream. It is a waste in this case - as far as a user is concerned, it makes more sense I think for the pause to function like stop in this case. Or is this something for the interface to think about?

0002838: single not working with random enabled

When I have both "random" and "single" enabled, MPD picks another song from the playlist once the current song is finished. When I turn random off, it behaves how I would expect (repeating the current song).

I.E., this works correctly:
repeat: on random: off single: on consume: off

This does not work correctly:
repeat: on random: on single: on consume: off

0001575: [PATCH] Add support for MixRamp tags.

Version 0.1.
Adds mixrampdb and mixrampdelay commands.
Reads MIXRAP_START and MIXRAMP_END tags from FLAC files and overlaps instead of crossfading.

0002805: Add GNU readline support for text input

Hi,

I think this would be very useful for searching, tag editing etc. (everything where the user has to type/edit text)
Could be made optional for users that don't have the readline library.

If I seek in a song it will sometimes crash mpd with following assertion. Seems that it doesn't matter what song will be played.

0002824: mpd update doesn't give filename information for error messages

My /var/log/mpd.log contains numerous sequential lines like
> Feb 21 10:32 : ffmpeg: Open failed
These lines occur at all logging levels, and are not accompanied by any further information at any logging level, ie there may be many of them in a row, with unrelated update messages at either end.

These seem to be happening when an invalid audio file is scanned by the update routine -- after I deleted one such file, a subsequent update logged one less such line.

Additionally, messages of the type documented in "http://musicpd.org/mantis/view.php?id=2823" [^] are not being associated with a filename.

Presumably the filename of the file for which these errors occurred should be logged at one or more of the verbosity levels.

0002823: mpd update inappropriately logging error messages from unrecognized codecs

I'm noticing a ton of lines like

in /var/log/mpd/mpd.log.

There will be 300 or more in a row.

The filename associated with this error message is not logged, even in verbose logging
mode.

These messages are logged at all logging levels: 'secure', 'default', and 'verbose'.

Some of these lines appear immediately before sequences of lines like

The file "/var/log/mpd/errors.log" is empty.

These lines are identical to output from `mplayer` when playing some .flv files that my system doesn't have codecs for. It looks like they are compressed using some wma9 codec. The system in question is running ubuntu Intrepid (2008-10). For more details, see the Additional Information section.

0000345: Need support for playing CDDA in the CD drive

mpd supports all manner of file formats on the hard drive, as well as streaming. It would be the total package if it could also play regular audio CDs.

0002791: [PATCH] Some new icons for the interface

Hi all,
I noticed you started to refresh your icon set, but I didn't like too much the style you used.
I made a sub-set of more beautiful (IMHO) icons in the new Tango style, wich blends nicely with Humanity, Oxygen and even with various windows icon themes.

I changed some icon names to better comply with namong specs, but I'm not very good at it, so maybe some are wrong.

Hope you like it, in case I'm available to make others ;)

0001576: Patch for MixRamp support

This patch add the mixrampdb and mixrampdelay commands to mpc for use with mpd patched with 1575.

0002830: Uses OSS by default, causes problems with dmix

MPD's default configuration is to use OSS and not ALSA which causes dmix to not work properly and only one application at a time can play sound.

Specifying the device manually in the config file like this solves the problem:

}

I believe the default behavior should be to use ALSA instead of OSS.

0002827: g_log domain not working in older ubuntu distros

I've isoloated the problem:
It seems that some g_log in url-watcher.c use LOG_WARNING instead of LOG_DOMAIN. Older distros don't seem to able to cope with this, so I've made a patch that changes it back. And now everything seems to build again.

0002802: time in mpd files is running at half speed.

while mp3 files run at correct speed, mpd displays wrong time in a way that the song is already ended, when progress reaches half of the progressbar.

decoder_api: added function decoder_timestamp()

Remove the data_time parameter from decoder_data(). This patch
eliminates the timestamp counting in most decoder plugins, because the

0002812: Time elapsed is inaccurate

Was looking at the time elapsed on my netbook and 3rd second would be skipped. ie. 1 2 4 5 7 8 10 almost like there was a timing problem. This was playing off a local MPD server, over tcp. Granted it could be a speed/power problem, but it seems like this computer should be able to handle this.

0002808: irssi style keybindings

It would be very handy if one could cycle between the different views (the ones that are now available via the go menu) via "alt + left" and "alt + right" keybindings. alt + left to go to the previous view and alt + right to go to the next view.
Alt + right on the last view should flip over to the first view again and alt + left on the first view should switch back to the last view.
Additionally it should be possible to assign keybindings like "alt + 1" for the first view "alt + 2" for the second view to the proper menuitems of the "Go"-menu after adding "gtk-can-change-accels = 1" in gtkrc-2.0

0002806: when mmkeys plugin is installed, gmpc doesn't start at all

never tried mmkeys plugin before, as it wasn't in 0.19.0 plugins pack.. but if installed (0.19.100) gmpc doesn't start at all :

when crossfading feature is enabled, mpd sends incorrect metadata to shout_plugin (not sure, maybe to others metadata-capable too), exactly - flips it, after 5 sec pause, to previous title exactly on every second song.

songs are actually played in right order, mpd client (i'm using mpc) always shows right title, so this problem is with metadata only.

note again, take a look on times and order - every second song's metadata is sent as previous, instead of current, with a delay of 5 sec.
crossfade value in above example was 20, but delay between such flips is not depends on crossfade value (tried with 5 and 30 also - same effect).

when i'm switching off crossfade feature (crossfade 0) - everything works as must to be, metadata gets sent normally, just in time and at playlist order.

0002465: [Dynamic Playlist] Make use of ncmpcpps "add random songs" feature

As ncmpcpp already has this feature it would be nice if it could automatically refill the playlist after X songs. This way you would have a proper dynamic playlist plugin. Maybe it could even be told to take care of special tags only. (even lastfm tags would be thinkable -> see gmpcs dynamic playlist plugin)

0002487: Embedding other plugins

fullscreeninfo does contain a bit to less information. Why not using the information passed by all these plugins? (Thinking of lyrics, tabs, ...)
Furthermore, besides the album cover, mostly there is a picture of the band available for all the songs. It would be great , having these pictures, too at fullscreeninfo (slide-show?!)
